Rick Nestler is the organizer of the Circle of Song, a longtime feature of the Clearwater Festival that we’re thrilled to have at the Hudson River Music Festival. Circle of Song carries forward the tradition of a collective music experience, as individuals sharing songs and stories in a communal setting. At the former Great Hudson River Revival, Pete Seeger would often camp out at Circle of Song for hours at a time, sharing the afternoon with musicians and attendees of the festival alike. 

Rick Nestler has been an independent musician and an environmental educator with Clearwater since the 1980s. Rick’s group The Dirty Stay Out Skifflers formed in 2000 and feature Dan Berger on harmonica, Donna Nestler on banjolele, vocals, washboard and kazoo, and Rick Nestler on 12 string guitar and vocals. The band plays a variety of old timey, tin pan alley, folk and pop originals.
